Two Moorestown Friends School (MFS) students were accepted into the South Jersey Band and Orchestra Director's Association (SJBODA) groups. Junior Carolyn Chelius (Haddon Township) was accepted into the Orchestra, the Chamber Ensemble and awarded one of only seven string spots. Seventh-grader Erin Chen (Lumberton) was accepted into the Orchestra. Both students are eligible to audition for the String Ensemble and the All-State groups. Chelius is a member of the MFS Upper School Chamber Ensemble and Chen is member of the MFS Middle School String Ensemble.

On Dec. 11, nearly 500 students auditioned at Eastern Regional High School for various SJBODA groups: Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Chamber Ensemble, String Ensemble and Symphonic Band. SJBODA organizes, promotes and implements the musical activities suggested and sponsored by the New Jersey Music Educators Association in the South Jersey area, and generally supports and fosters quality music education in the schools of South Jersey.
