Symphony in C welcomes Jay Appleton to the Board of Directors
Symphony in C and Music Director Rossen Milanov are pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Appleton to its Board of Directors.
Jay Appleton is a Principal with Kitchen & Associates, an architecture, engineering, planning and interior design firm based in Collingswood, NJ. A licensed Professional Civil Engineer, Jay is actively involved with a number of industry associations including the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, the Philadelphia Community Design Collaborative, and the Urban Land Institute, where he is Co-Chair of Philadelphia’s Urban Issues Council and a member of the District Advisory Board.
Jay is active in several non-profit community organizations. He is a Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Enterprise Center in Philadelphia. He is Chairman of the Board of Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development, a local non-profit developer of affordable housing, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Camden County. He and his wife Kathy reside in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Symphony in C is one of three professional training orchestras in the United States preparing musicians and conductors who are on the cusp of world-class careers through concert, educational outreach and professional development programs. Performing at the Gordon Theater at Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts in Camden, New Jersey, Symphony in C serves over 90,000 people annually through its critically-acclaimed concert series, educational outreach programs and radio broadcasts. Symphony in C has been designated a Major Arts Institution by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and strives to continue making artistic, educational, and economic impact on a regional, national and global scale.
