Community Corner

Moorestown Library's Throwing a Party

... And everyone's invited. Stop by the library Friday to celebrate National Library Week.

Where can you find Moorestonians—from babies to seniors—browsing, enjoying programs, meeting friends and neighbors, working, studying, reading the day’s news and checking their email? At Moorestown Library, of course.

The library is a daily gathering place for people of all ages and interests, and during the week of April 14, the country will recognize National Library Week. On Friday, April 19, the Moorestown Library will be celebrating the place of the library in our community and the fact that “Communities Matter @ Moorestown Library.” Join us from 7-9 p.m. that evening for a special event featuring live music, and so much more.

At 7:30 we will host a concert by Neal Stephen and friends. Singer/songwriter Neal Stephens is a South Jersey resident who has been on the secular and gospel music scene for many years. He is currently the director of contemporary service at the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown.

In addition to music and refreshments, we are welcoming representatives from many of the clubs and organizations in town. Moorestown is filled with people who are passionate about their interests, from caring for the environment to taking care of business, and on April 19, many of these people will be represented here at the library to share their interests with you.

Moorestown Village, the 4th of July Parade Committee, Sustainable Moorestown and S.T.E.M are just a few of the organizations who will have tables at the library where you can stop by and learn more about them. From the Moorestown Business Association, to the Moorestown Theater Company, to the Moorestown Improvement Association, you are sure to find a group with activities that interest you. Children can learn more about scouting from representatives of the Boy and Girl scouts. If you have no idea what the Questers do or that we have a crew club in Moorestown, come and discover how much your community has to offer.

All evening long, you’ll have the opportunity to indulge your reading interests at our library booksale. The Meeting Room will be full of high quality books in new or like-new condition, at very reasonable prices.

While the adults are enjoying the music, exploring the organizations’ tables and book shopping, kids are invited to drop into the Children’s Room to get creative with our huge collection of Legos.

There really is a something for everyone in our community at the Moorestown Library, so come out Friday, April 19, and celebrate with us!
