Other facts

I have chosen to run for town council for several reasons—first and foremost my love of our town, its people, its school system, and the fact that my professional experience is directly relevant to our town's everyday needs. I feel like it's time to give back and generate a constructive environment that plans for our future versus simply reacting to it. As a professional engineer, my experience in civil and building construction, water and wastewater is an asset that applies to many projects. As a successful entrepreneur and business owner, my ability to manage our town's finances and support the growth of our business districts is an asset. As an LSRP, my knowledge of the environmental arena is an asset in developing contaminated sites on the west side of town. As commissioner of the Moorestown Youth Flag Football League, and a baseball and hockey coach for years, my knowledge of our town's athletic organizations and our open space needs is also a plus. For these reasons, I have elected to throw my hat into the ring and hopefully become a member of what I would like to call the "Moorestown Comeback Team."

Editor's note: The above information comes directly from the candidate.

Nothing pretentious about someone who has credentials that the Patch asked these candidates to submit! It's a positive, you're just looking for something to nitpick!

Is Steve Solomon the campaign manager or treasurer as Mr Palko lists him as?

Just to clear things up. I am no longer treasurer of the campaign. As to the issue of Pete's accreditation's after his name. The Patch specifically asked for those in the questionnaire. That being said, with the upcoming construction and field projects, isn't it nice to know the town will have some one with his experience and qualifications in these areas watching over our contractors to help to avoid cost over-runs?

I think Palko is a great pick for Council. His business experience and his volunteerism in our town would be a welcome addition to our town's governing body! Garwood, Napolitano, and Palko in 2012!

At the moment, my votes are definitely going to Garwood and Napolitano with my third leaning towards Greg Newcomer. I haven't heard much about Mr. Palko, so it's very possible he could win my third as well, but many people have told me what a great man and community servant Mr. Newcomer is. What makes Palko a better pick than Newcomer?

Here's why: While the Dems are spending the liquor license money on projects that may work MAYBE. Pete is spending his time (when he is not knocking doors) analyzing whether it is better to lease new fuel efficient trash trucks in this low interest rate environment or fix the one's the town already owns. While the Dems have lofty goals of putting expensive solar panels on the new town hall and creating a cable tv channel. Pete has been comparing the cost of our water treatment per gallon versus what the towns around us pay. He looking to help run our town efficiently not just throw a bunch ideas at the wall because they might sound good in the Patch. So Travis, do you want really nice guys with lots of pie in the sky plans that sound really cool or do you want someone who can do cost analysis while combing through the budget to make sure your tax dollars are being spent wisely?

Garwood, Napolitano, and Palko are the only logical choice this year. They are stewards of our town, volunteers, and community activists ready to fight for the taxpayer. I applaud them.
