Police Arrest Man Wanted in Knifepoint Robbery

Also, Mount Laurel Police arrest two 18-year-olds on pot charges and investigate the scamming of a senior citizen.

Nov. 26

Arrest (burglary/theft) — Police arrested Paul S. Maluk, 35, of the 5400 block of Aberdeen Drive, Mount Laurel, for allegedly stealing a wallet from an unlocked vehicle at the Wawa on Route 73 on Nov. 13, according to a report. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Nov. 27

Theft, 1-2 p.m. — Police said an iPhone 5, valued at $500, and a credit card were stolen from the LA Fitness on Dearborn Circle.

Theft (Larchmont Place), 4:30-7 p.m. — Someone stole a $600 laptop from the front step of a residence on the 2600 block of Larchmont Place, according to police.

Nov. 28

Arrest (credit card fraud) — Police arrested Wawa employee Bryan Hawthorne, 26, of the 3100 block of Georgetown Road, Cinnaminson, for fraudulently using a customer’s credit card to buy gas, according to a report. Hawthorne was charged with credit card fraud and possession of a hypodermic needle and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Theft from vehicle (Ravenscliffe) — Someone stole a Sirius radio, valued at approximately $100, from an unlocked vehicle parked on the 100 block of Mountainview Road, between 3 p.m. Nov. 26 and 3 p.m. Nov. 28, according to police.

Nov. 29

Arrest (shoplifting) — Police arrested Jon D. Trout, 24, of the 200 block of Countryside Lane, Mount Laurel, for shoplifting $149 in merchandise from the Home Depot on Nixon Drive, according to a report. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (credit card fraud) — Police arrested Nicole M. Mutschler, 19, of the 1400 block of Route 38, Hainesport, for allegedly stealing a credit card at the Friendly’s on Route 38 on Nov. 1, according to a report. She was charged with credit card theft and credit card fraud and committed to Burlington County Jail on $2,500 bail.

Theft (attempted scam), 11 a.m. — An elderly Mount Laurel resident told police they were approached by a woman in the Centerton Square Shopping Center who said she worked for a local bank and had negotiable financial documents for the resident worth more than $100,000, but in order to complete the transaction the resident would need to pay several thousand dollars. During the encounter, the unidentified woman asked to use the victim’s cell phone and never returned it. The victim became suspicious and the suspect left the area with the cell phone, police said. The suspect is described as a black woman in her 20s wearing business attire.

Nov. 30
 
Shoplifting, 7:20 p.m. — Someone stole a Samsung Galaxy S II cell phone, valued at $500, from the AT&T store on Nixon Drive, according to police.

Theft, 7:30-7:36 p.m. — Police said someone stole a purse from a vehicle parked outside the Mount Laurel Wine and Spirits store on Route 38. The purse and its contents are valued at $53.

Dec. 1

Fraud, 11 a.m. — A Pennsylvania resident reported the fraudulent use of his credit cards at the Best Buy on Nixon Drive. The cards were charged for more than $11,000 of merchandise, police said.

Criminal mischief (Stonegate), 6:16 p.m. — Police said someone threw a baseball through the upstairs window of a home on the unit block of Saw Mill Drive, causing an estimated $100 damage.

Burglary (Brettonwood), 7:05-9:50 p.m. — A burglar broke into a home on the unit block of Ardleigh Court by forcing open a rear sliding glass door and stole jewelry and coins worth more than $2,000, according to police.

Dec. 2

Arrest (armed robbery) — Police arrested Ossie Thomas IV, 20, of the unit block of Crows Nest Court, Mount Laurel, for allegedly robbing a 20-year-old man at knifepoint, according to a report. Thomas robbed the victim, who received lacerations from the knife during the robbery, of his cell phone and wallet, police said. The victim was treated at Virtua Hospital and released. Thomas was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, weapons and drug offenses. He was committed to Burlington County Jail on $112,500 bail.

Dec. 3

Arrest (DWI), 2:52 p.m. — Police arrested Beverly A. Kelliher, 30, of Sunset Boulevard, Southampton, after she was stopped on Route 73. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of heroin, according to a report. She was served with complaints and released pending a court hearing.

Arrest (possession of marijuana), 9:54 p.m. — Police arrested Cynthia Albarracin, 18, of the 4400 block of Garfield Avenue, Pennsauken, and Jamere Lay, 18 of the 400 block of Willow Turn, Mount Laurel, for possession of marijuana after they were stopped on the 400 block of Willow Turn for suspicious activity, according to a report. Both Albarracin and Lay were charged with possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Dec. 4

Shoplifting — Someone stole a Samsung Galaxy Note II tablet, worth $650, from the AT&T store on Nixon Drive, police said.
