Police: Contractor Stole $17K in Jewelry From Home

Also, police investigate a report of a man assaulted on a bus and a man conned out of his credit card information.

March 28

Burglary (Rancocas Woods), 10 a.m. to noon — Someone stole $1,500 worth of electronics from an unlocked residence on the unit block of Overhill Road, police said.

Criminal mischief (Laurel Creek), 4:06 p.m. —Someone threw a rock through the front window of a home on the 4800 block of Essex Lane, causing $500 in damage, according to police.

March 29

Burglary (Bedford Walk), 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. — A burglar forced open a window and stole $500 worth of jewelry from a residence on the unit block of Dalton Court, police said.

Identity theft (Ramblewood) — A resident of the 700 block of Hunters Lane told police someone used their identity to open an account with AT&T, accruing more than $1,300 in fraudulent charges.

March 30

Theft, 12-1 p.m. — A Moorestown resident had their wallet, and its contents, valued at approximately $110, stolen after they accidentally left it in the rest room of the Mount Laurel Library, according to police.

Attempted burglary (Larchmont) — Police said an unknown person(s) tried to break into a home on the 200 block of Charing Way through a window, causing about $50 in damage. Nothing was reported stolen.

Theft — Someone stole a $200 GPS from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on the unit block of Wellington Court, according to police. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. March 27 and 5:26 p.m. March 31.

Arrest (DWI), 8:53 p.m. — Police arrested David L. Wood, 22, of the 100 block of Donoma Street, Browns Mills, after he was stopped on Union Mill Road for a motor vehicle violation. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing, police said.

April 1

Assault, 12:05 a.m. — Police said a Coatesville, PA man was assaulted on a bus in the parking lot of the Wyndham Hotel on Route 73. The man told police he was accosted by an unidentified man after they got into an argument. The suspect left the scene before police arrived and was not identified. A mirror on the bus, valued at approximately $150, was damaged during the altercation. No injuries were reported, police said.

Credit card fraud — A Baltimore, MD resident staying at the Westin Hotel on Route 73 reported someone posing as a hotel employee called his room and asked him to verify his credit card information, police said. The victim provided the information to the caller and later discovered his credit card information was fraudulently used to make more than $600 in purchases on-line.

April 2

Attempted burglary — Police said someone tried to break into Computer House Calls, 3111 Route 38, through a door, causing about $500 in damage. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. April 1 and 9:30 a.m. April 2.

Burglary (Holiday Village) — A burglar forced open a sliding door and stole jewelry, of undetermined value, from a residence on the unit block of Carson Court, police said. The burglary occurred sometime between April 1 and 2.

April 3

Arrest (theft), 12:30 a.m. — Police arrested Christopher Meehan, 27, of the 100 block of Ramblewood Parkway, for theft. Meehan is accused of stealing approximately $17,000 in jewelry from a home on the 3800 block of Saxony Drive while employed there as an independent contractor between Jan. 2 and March 19, police said. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a court hearing.

Criminal mischief — A New Bern, NC resident staying at the Westin Hotel on Fellowship Road told police sometime between 6 p.m. April 2 and 7 a.m. April 3 someone damaged the door lock of his vehicle, causing $400 in damage.

Theft, 12:30-1 p.m. — Someone stole a wallet and its contents, valued at approximately $200, out of a jacket that was left unattended at Coco Keys Water Park, on the 900 block of Route 73, police said.
