Christmas is officially over and winter vacation is full swing. The kids have had a full day at home to play with their new gadgets, but there’s still a whole week left before they go back to school. If you’ve visited the Moorestown Library lately, or even just driven by, you’ve noticed things have changed a lot in a short time, especially when it comes to parking. While it’s a welcome sign that progress has finally begun on our new town hall and library, we realize this situation will definitely take some getting used to. So, we at the library offer this list of FAQs to help us all get through the initial frustration.Is the library open?Yes! Winter is here and signup has officially begun for Winter Story Times and crafts at the Moorestown Library. Throughout January and into February, the library will host a variety of craft and activity programs for all ages, as well as weekly story times for children from birth through kindergarten. Baby Story Time will return on Monday, Jan. 7, and run through Feb. 11. Children under 2, along with their caregivers and siblings, are invited to join us for 30 minutes of stories, rhymes, puppets and songs, followed by a short, informal playtime each Monday at 9:30 a.m. No registration is required…

It’s a longstanding tradition in Moorestown for the Women’s Club to set up a “Wish Tree” in the library and invite members of the community to help make holiday wishes come true for children in need throughout Burlington County. It may just be turkey time, but the Moorestown Library is already thinking ahead to a magical, fun-filled winter, and we’re calling all kids to help us transform the library into a Winter Wonderland. At the Moorestown Library, we’ve decided we need more than just one day to show our appreciation to our military veterans. So this November, we’ve decided to turn Veterans Day into “Veterans Month” by honoring our veterans in two special ways all month long.Throughout the month of November, we are inviting men and women who have served our country in the military to join in a veteran’s display at the circulation desk. The Moorestown Library kicked off its fall story-time season last week, with free weekly programs for children from birth through kindergarten. If you haven’t signed up yet, don’t fret. While some sessions have filled, it’s not too late to join the fun.Baby Story Time is being offered for children younger than 2 at 9:30 a.m. every Monday morning through Nov. 12. Last week we told you about an upcoming opportunity to learn more about e-readers here at the Moorestown Library. We’re now ready to welcome you to come and meet the e-readers!  From 1-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, Moorestown Library is kicking off its Technology Petting Zoo. If you’re thinking about buying an e-book reader or tablet, come to the library to try them out and compare their features before you buy. The South Jersey chapter of Better Investing—a national nonprofit educational organization—has started a Model Investment Club at the Moorestown Library from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday evenings (Sept. 17, Oct. 15 and Nov. 19). Back in February, Jon Gibbs, of the New Jersey Authors’ Network, told a packed room at the Moorestown Library the “10 Things Every Writer Should Know.” The presentation was well-received and many of you asked us to invite him back again. Health issues? “Healing Through Art,” Moorestown Library-sponsored six-session workshop designed to help participants use watercolors and guided imagery to get in touch with their feelings, may be just for you. Another season of summer reading drew to a close at the Moorestown Library this week, and eager young readers are anxiously awaiting their prizes, which will be ready to claim beginning Friday, Aug. 31. We realize this gap in the summer festivities can be frustrating for parents and children alike.
