Starting Wednesday, the county will begin resurfacing a 1.6-mile section of Church Road spanning Maple Shade and Mount Laurel. The project involves milling and overlay of Church Road from the Camden County line in Maple Shade to Route 73 in Mount Laurel. The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete. One lane will remain open to traffic, alternating during milling and paving operations. Burlington County freeholders approved a $7.1 million plan to resurface 12 county roads in 13 municipalities, for a total of 17.2 miles, this year. The county is funding the project with $4.5 million from the annual NJ Transportation Trust Fund. Burlington County is making it easy for residents to get rid of their Christmas trees by once again offering free recycling of the festive timber. To be eligible for free disposal, residents or municipalities should bring the trees to the Resource Recovery Complex in Florence and Mansfield as a separate load—that is, not mixed with trash.
