Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, Eva Perón became one of the most powerful women in the world—while her outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable story.

In its 15th annual summer musical, MoorArts presents EVITA—featuring a large, seasoned cast from throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and a live, 28-piece pit orchestra. Directed by Broadway veteran and theater educator Marc G. Dalio, the production will have an edgy, modern look complementing the timeless music of Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice.

The role of Eva is double cast, with accomplished stage veterans Tressa Scibilia and Christine Serenbetz starring in alternating performances.  Actors Michael Scibilia and John Comegno fill the roles of Che (based on the revolutionary,  Che Guevera) and President Juan Perón.   In two key scenes, the musical will feature 18 members of the Moorestown Upper Elementary Enriched Chorus.

In MoorArts’ ongoing commitment to mentoring young people interested in pursuing the arts, the production of EVITA is using a number of high school and college interns in key roles backstage, including lighting, stage management, and graphic design.

MoorArts is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine and performing arts in the Moorestown public schools and throughout the community.  Proceeds from EVITA and all MoorArts events help fund student scholarships and teacher grants in the arts.
