Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Honors Employees and Volunteers at Annual Event

The 12th annual Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Winterfest, held at The Mansion in Voorhees, celebrated the hard work and accomplishments of Samaritan’s dedicated employees and volunteers. More than 300 volunteers, staff members and their families attended the luncheon buffet.

Samaritan President/CEO Mary Ann Boccolini presented recognition awards to employees who have been with the organization for milestone years and volunteers who have reached important levels in the hours of service they have given.

Top awardees of the afternoon included  Susan Fisher, RN,  Joanne Rosen and Anita Feldman (not present) who have worked at Samaritan for 20 years and volunteers Jacqueline Cunney who has dedicated 3,000 hours of her time to Samaritan and Joan Harrigan (not present) honored for 5,500 hours of service.

Pictured in photo: Samaritan Volunteer Services Manager Sally Cezo presents volunteer Peggy Morgan of Marlton an award for 2,000 hours of service. Peggy started volunteering for Samaritan more than a decade ago by visiting patients and families. Now she makes important bi-weekly phone calls to Transitions patients and helps maintain an accurate address database for the marketing department. Peggy has also helped raise more than $30,000 for Samaritan’s sister hospice, Kawempe Home Care (KHC) in Kampala, Uganda, by coordinating sales of Beads for Education -- beautiful necklaces made out of recycled paper to help KHC families send their children to school.
