YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties Announces New Winter Programming

With the start of the new year, what better time to make a commitment to a new you! Kick off the year on the right foot at the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties and make 2014 your healthiest year yet. 

Now through January 31, 2014, you can join the Y at the Burlington-Riverfront YMCA or the Mt. Laurel YMCA by purchasing a facility membership and the joiner fee will be waived.  This savings (up to $150) makes joining easier and more affordable to create that new you. Facility memberships offer unlimited access to both Y facilities, as well as wellness centers, open gym time, lap and recreational swimming and free babysitting. Facility members also enjoy more than 100 free group exercise classes and 30 free water exercise classes, priority registration, reduced fees for programs and classes and guest privileges. 

For non-members interested in trying the Y, the $59 Class Pass is the way to go. Each pass entitles you to attend the same class for the full Winter Session. Interested in more than one class? Purchase as many class passes as you’d like. 

In addition, the YMCA recently announced a new line-up of fun and inspiring programs for the winter session, which runs from January 6 through March 2, to help members of all ages achieve their health and wellness goals. 

New Group Exercise classes include:
• Beginning Adult Ballet: Improve grace, posture and balance. Beginning Adult Ballet will be offered on Mondays from 10-10:50 a.m. at the Burlington-Riverfront YMCA. Cost is $35 for facility member and $70 for program members. This program is not open to non-members.

New Youth Programs include:
o Karate:  Children ages 4 to 11 will learn karate skills and discipline at the Burlington-Riverfront YMCA. Little Dragons, for ages 4-6, will take place on Thursdays from 5-5:30 p.m. Cost is $72 for facility members, $108 for program members and $144 for non-members.  Beginner’s, for ages 7-11, will take place on Thursdays from 5:40-6:25 p.m. Cost is $80 for facility members, $120 for program members and $160 for non-members. 
o Teen Volleyball: Volleyball matches for teenagers, ages 13 to 17, on Thursdays from 7:30-8:15 p.m. at the Burlington-Riverfront YMCA. Free for facility and program members. 
o Princess Party: Princess crafts and projects for ages 3-5 on Thursdays from 10:15-10:55 a.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA. Cost is $50 for facility members, $100 for program members and $125 for non-program members. 
o Advanced Kindergymers: An advanced gymnastics class where children will focus on improving their tumbling skills. Registrants must have taken Kindergymers previously. Advanced Kindergymers will take place on Wednesdays from 6-6:45 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA. Cost is $88 for facility members, $176 for program members and $220 for non-program members.
o Hip Hop: Children ages 8-12 will learn the fundamentals of hip hop set to energetic music. Hip Hop will be offered on Mondays from 4-4:50 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA. Cost is $50 for facility members, $100 for program members and $125 for non-program members.
o ½ Ballet & ½ Jazz: Children ages 8-12 will enjoy 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of jazz. ½ Ballet & ½ Jazz will be offered on Fridays from 6:20-7:20 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA. Cost is $60 for facility members, $120 for program members and $150 for non-program members.
o Teen Interval Training: A high-intensity interval training class for teenagers, ages 13-17. Teen Interval Training will take place Mondays through Thursdays from 5:15-6 p.m. at the Mt Laurel YMCA. Cost to attend one class per week is $35 for facility members, $70 for program members and $87 for non-program members.
o Art & Reading Club: Children ages 6-9 will read a story and complete a related art project in this youth enrichment class. Art & Reading Club takes place on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA. Cost is $49 for facility members, $98 for program members and $123 for non-program members.

New Aquatics Programs include:
o Sea Lions: This new aquatics class is for children with special needs and is open to preschool, ages 3-5, and youth, ages 6-12. Classes take place at 2 p.m. on Saturdays at the Burlington-Riverfront YMCA. Cost for preschool is $56 for facility members, $84 for program members and $112 for non-members. Cost for youth is $81 for facility members, $122 for program members and $162 for non-members.

The Burlington-Riverfront YMCA is located at 302 Commerce Square Boulevard in Burlington. The Mt. Laurel YMCA is located at 59 Centerton Road in Mt. Laurel.
