Busy Weekend Ahead with Moorestown Day, Sean Fischel 5K

Autumn in Moorestown marks its 20th anniversary this year.

Free this weekend? There's lots to do in Moorestown, beginning with a longstanding Main Street festival and ending with a new event inspired by one family's tragic and touching story.

Autumn in Moorestown celebrates its 20th anniversary on Saturday. More than 100 artisans and food vendors will line Main Street for the annual festival, which starts at 9 a.m. and goes till 4 p.m.

In addition to the arts and crafts the festival has become known for, one of the main attractions is the antique and classic car show, hosted by the Lakes Corvette Club. And of course, it wouldn't be Autumn in Moorestown without the ever-popular scarecrow-making on the front lawn of the Community House—courtesy of the Moorestown Fire Department.

Once again, Lincoln Technical Institute is providing free parking and shuttle service to Main Street throughout the day. Follow the signs to park in their lot at 308 W. Route 38.

Visit the Moorestown Business Association website for more information.

On Sunday, lace up your running (or walking) shoes and head over to Moorestown High School for the Sean Fischel Connect 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run. The event, held in memory of the 7-year-old Moorestown boy who died in February of HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis), a rare autoimmune disorder, will benefit the Moorestown Library and the township Parks and Recreation Department.

More than 420 people have signed up for the race so far, but there's still time to register. Registration is $20.

The race begins at noon on the cross country course behind Moorestown High School. The trail begins by the high school parking lot, winds its way through the woods behind the school, and ends back at the school.
