Cold Snap Anticipated Overnight

Residents are encouraged to look in on their elderly and handicapped neighbors as temperatures fall.

As a clipper system enters the northeastern United States early this week, South Jersey is under a severe weather advisory in anticipation of rapidly dropping temperatures.

From 6 p.m. December 30 until 6 a.m. on New Year's Eve, temperatures across the region are expected to fall into the low 20's, with five-to-ten-mile-per-hour winds.

Later in the week, the region has a chance of snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.
