Letter to the Editor: Republican Candidates Recognize Memorial Day

To the Editor:

To many Americans, Memorial Day marks the start of summer with trips to the Jersey Shore, barbecues, and time to relax with family and friends. However, it’s important to remember that the freedom to do all of this is thanks to the men and women in the Armed Services who gave their lives in service to our Nation.

This Memorial Day, we join our fellow Moorestown residents in remembering the brave men and women throughout American history who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be free. These soldiers were truly the best of us, laying down their lives so that millions of individuals they would never meet could live their lives in freedom.

We remember the families of the fallen on this solemn day, and humbly extend our deepest gratitude to the Gold Star families of Moorestown and the rest the United States. The debt that we as a nation owe is one that we will never be able to repay.

As you enjoy your long weekend, please remember to take the time and pause in reflection to remember those we have lost and to pray for a safe return for those who are currently serving our country.
