Magazine: Moorestown Lowest Taxes in SJ
Moorestown also fell to No. 5 in places to live in a South Jersey Magazine list.
Moorestown is No. 1 in lowest residential taxes per average residential value in South Jersey, according to a local magazine's recently released rankings.
"The discipline we've demonstrated is paying off," Deputy Mayor Greg Gallo said about the ranking. "The town operates a lean budget, we're looking at ways to continue that. We're going to stay on this path."
South Jersey Magazine ranked the township the fifth-best place to live in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties for its Top Towns 2011 list. Moorestown also was named the No. 3 town to live in Burlington County.

Moorestown slipped slightly this year in overall rankings. In 2009 and 2010, it was the No. 2 spot to live in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties, and the No. 1 spot in Burlington County.

South Jersey Magazine, which published the rankings in its May issue, culled data from the state Department of Education, Division of Local Government services and the New Jersey State Police Uniform Crime Report.
The criteria for the rankings include average residential property value, residential taxes per value, reported crime, SAT scores, college-bound high school graduates and performance on standardized tests.
