The Civil War accounts for more American casualties than any other war in American history with more than 620,000 deaths.

Moorestown will remember all of the men and women who sacrificed their lives for their country while serving in the United States military during the ceremony, which begins with music from the Moorestown High School Band under the direction of Chris Norris.

Boy Scout Troop #44 will post the colors and the Cub Scout Troop #44 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Pastor Steve Donat of the First United Methodist Church will provide the invocation and the Second Baptist Church Choir will provide a musical interlude.

A Moorestown official will introduce the ceremonies, and Judith Young will present “Send Them Home Tenderly.” Young’s son is USMC SGT Jeffrey Young for whom Jeffrey Young Park in Moorestown is named.

Young and the Moorestown Community Girl Scouts will do the Roll Call and Remembrance, and Lenny Wagner of the Moorestown Historical Society will be the main speaker.

William H. Snyder American Legion Post 42 will conduct the Military Salute and the Moorestown High School Band will play Taps.  William H. Snyder was killed in battle in World War 1 and the post was named after him.

Following the Benediction by Pastor Donat, Carla McIlmail will perform the musical conclusion.
