Moorestown Parks & Rec, Partners Offer Classes for Kids, Families

The Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Begley Law Group and Sensational Kids of Marlton, will offer two new classes starting next month.

Provided by the Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation

The Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to partner with Begley Law Group and Sensational Kids of Marlton to offer new socialization and learning opportunities to Moorestown children and their families.

Starting in February, the Department of Parks and Recreation will open the third floor of the Church Street Recreation Center to host a series of classes by the staff of Sensational Kids, at a reduced cost to families, through a very generous grant from Begley Law Group. Classes are normally $299, but through the generosity of Begley Law Group, the cost per child is only $99.

Rainbow Loom Classes for ages 7 and up: Church Street Recreation Center; Third Floor,  Wednesday, Feb. 19 through Wednesday, March 26, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. This class will be run by Sensational Kids of Marlton. Cost per child: $99. Does your child like to loom but need some support? Would your loomer like to learn new patterns to loom at their own skill level? Then this class is for your child. This is a fun class where children can learn to loom, and learn new ways to loom, while socializing.

Social Skills Classes for ages 8–10: Church Street Recreation Center, Third Floor; Friday, Feb. 21 through Friday, March 28, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The cost per child is $99. Space is extremely limited and this class is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a waiting list for this class so register ASAP. Is your child struggling to make or keep friends? Social skills play groups are lots of fun. Children learn to make friends during cooperative projects, sensory activities, board games and music. Sessions improve the ability to perform as part of a group, share, take turns, attend, and to cope with challenges and disappointment. Children learn how to be a friend, as well as make friends, control impulses and handle frustration. Sensational Kids will provide weekly parent carry-over and consult with parents on managing behavior at home.
