No Food in the Library ... Except Just This Once

Celebrate National Library Week with a cooking contest at the Moorestown Library.

A few weeks ago, . We received many great responses, but one response gave us our inspiration for next week’s National Library Week celebration: 

“I’ve found great cookbooks I didn’t know existed!”

After seeing that comment, circulation staff member Elite Law suggested we hold a cooking contest using all those great cookbooks. So this year’s National Library Week theme became “What’s Cooking @?”

Moorestown Library has an amazing cookbook collection. Whether you're looking for Julia Child or Emeril, low-carb meals or decadent desserts, vegetarian or barbecue, we’ve got it. We have ethnic cookbooks from African to Vietnamese, and healthy cookbooks for diabetic diets, gluten-free and heart-healthy eating. Whatever the dish you're hungry for, we probably have a recipe for it. So check out some cookbooks and try something new!

Sweet and Savory Snack Contest

Show off your cooking skills and our cookbooks to friends and neighbors! Make an appetizer, snack or dessert from a cookbook in the library collection and bring it to our National Library Week party from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 13. Entry forms are available at the library and are due by April 12.

That night we’ll also have fun giveaways and a cooking demonstration by a chef from Wegmans. She’ll be giving out samples, as well as some nutritional tips. Don’t miss it!
