Rec Department to Hold Summer Programs

Registration begins May 9.

The Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation Summer Parks Program, for township children ages 5 through 12, will be held at , and . 

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program beings Tuesday, June 21 and runs through July 29. Fee for the six-week program is $75.

A birth certificate is required at the time of registration. Activities at the sites will include games, sports, arts and crafts, special events, tournaments and other activities. Bicycle registration, in connection with the Moorestown Police Department, will take place at all parks, and half-day trips (requiring an additional fee) will also be offered through the summer.

Registration for the program will be held from May 9 through June 8. If space is available, non-residents can register June 13-15.

Children’s Summer Theater Program: The Summer Theater Program will stage Oliver this summer. The program, for Moorestown children ages 7 through 15, will begin with auditions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 20 and 21. Callbacks will be held June 22; rehearsals begin June 23. Production dates are: 1 p.m. July 27 and 28; 7:30 p.m. July 29 and 30. Children will learn all phases of producing musical theater, from auditions through the actual production.

Children must be 7 years old as of June 21. A birth certificate is required at the time of registration. There is a $75 fee for the six-week program.

Registration will be held from May 9 to June 8. Non-resident children may register June 13-15 if space is available.

Summer Field Trip Series: The Department of Parks and Recreation, in connection with the Summer Parks Program will be sponsoring a series of half-day field trips for children ages 5 through 12 registered for the Summer Program. There will be an additional fee for all trips. Individual trip information/registration will be listed under programs at www.moorestownrec.com.  Trips include bowling outings at the Playdrome Recreation Center (July 8 and 18), a roller skating party (July 11), as well as track and field clinics at the Moorestown Athletic Center at the high school during July. Transportation will not be included for the track clinics.
