Summer Concert Series Opener Thursday Night

MoorArts: An Evening of Musical Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. at Moorestown Community House.

The Moorestown Summer Concert Series kicks off Thursday night and features MoorArts: An Evening of Musical Entertainment. 

The show was set for Wednesday night, but was postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast. All concerts in the series are scheduled for Wednesday night, with a rain date of the following night.

Talented artists from the local community, including Moorestown High School alumni will showcase their musical talents. 

MoorArts is a non-profit organization of parents, educators, and township residents dedicated to preserving Moorestown's long-standing commitment to the arts.

All MoorArts sponsored events raise funds for the MoorArts Scholarship and Grant Program.

Through this program, MoorArts has administered thousands of dollars in grants and awards to support arts-related projects in the public schools and in scholarships to Moorestown High School seniors pursuing advanced study in the arts.

For this year's concert series, the Department of Parks and Recreation will partner with the Moorestown Community House, the Moorestown Business Association and MoorArts to deliver a variety of musical performances that are sure to engage audiences of all ages.

All concerts are free and will be held on the lawn at the Moorestown Community House, 16 East Main Street unless otherwise noted.  

Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and to spread out on the lawn to enjoy the music of the evening.  

All concerts start at 7 p.m., and the rain date for each concert is the following evening.

July 9: The Jersey Boomers
July 23: The Wind Symphony of Southern New Jersey at Perkins Center for the Arts, 395 Kings Highway in Moorestown
Aug. 6: Trouble With Plaid
Aug. 20: Lost in Brunswick
