Support Perkins at Annual Holiday Event

Annual fundraiser, A Winter's Tea, is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Community House.

If you'd like to show your appreciation for the , let your checkbook do the talking and buy a ticket for this year's . 

The annual event, scheduled for Sunday, will feature holiday crafts, live music, food, a special reading and visit from two of Santa's elves, and plenty of other activities for kids.

Lee Bennett, special events and project manager at Perkins, said the event sold out last year, so those wishing to attend should buy their tickets in advance either online at the center's website

Bennett said the center has raised about $3,000 from the event the last two years and hoping to raise a bit more this year.

"We really need help as funding continues to get less and less. This is just a really fun way to help the center," she said. "It's a really, really fun afternoon. Come and let us feed and entertain your kids."

A ticket is $35, free admission for children 2 and under. The event goes from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the on Main Street.

Any tickets not sold in advance will be sold at the door, but Bennett said they can't guarantee their availability.
