Patch 5-Day Forecast: Gradual Warming This Week

A storm system could impact the region on Friday. Will it be snow, ice, or rain? Find out in this week's PatchCast for February 4-10.

Today will be the coldest day of the week, but we will gradually warm through the week and Friday will be the warmest day.

We'll start today with sun but finish with clouds. The high will be near 30, but you will want to dress for wind chills around 20 because it will be a breezy day. While you're sleeping tonight, a passing snow shower or two is possible and could coat the ground or your car, so be mindful of that as you head out to work or school Tuesday morning.

There will be plenty of clouds around on Tuesday, but some sun could break through at times. Another passing snow shower is possible Tuesday night, so you may need that snow brush again Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will be another breezy day. We should reach 40 degrees or slightly above with sun and clouds, but the wind will make it feel more like the low 30s. Thursday will be similar but with less wind.

Thursday night into Friday morning, temperatures will rise into the mid-40s. This is because a cold front will be approaching from the west, and warmer air usually precedes a cold frontal passage.

This cold front will be interacting with a storm system moving up from the south, perhaps our next nor'easter, and will bring us periods of rain, sleet, and wet snow through the day on Friday. Temperatures could drop back into the 30s once the precipitation begins. I'm not expecting any snow or ice accumulation in the Delaware Valley, but be prepared for a sloppy day.

Right now, the weekend looks great! Saturday and Sunday will feature bright sunshine as high pressure takes over with high temperatures 40-45.
