Manufacturer Shuts Down Moorestown Plant

Roughly 70 employees will be affected when Masco Corporation closes its Moorestown facility this year.

The Masco Corporation, one of the world's largest manufacturers of brand-name products for home improvement and new home construction, will close its manufacturing facility in Moorestown by the end of the year, affecting about 70 employees.

Masco, which has been in business since 1929, began operations in Moorestown in 1995, producing acrylic bathtubs and showers. The company will shut down the Moorestown plant, along with a facility in Adamsville, TN and consolidate remaining Masco Bath operations into Masco’s Delta Faucet Company.

These moves support Masco’s efforts to reduce its cost structure, balance capacity with demand, and improve its overall operating efficiencies.

According to a release from the company, approximately 70 hourly and salaried employees at the Moorestown site will be affected. Production from these facilities will be absorbed by Delta manufacturing facilities and affected employees will receive competitive severance packages.

The Adamsville, TN facility began operations in 1972 and has approximately 200 hourly and salaried employees.
