Milestone Reached at New Virtua Center

The 200,000-square-foot facility is expected to be open before the end of the year.

A large crowd composed of Virtua representatives, public officials and interested members of the public gathered Friday to mark a "topping-off" ceremony for the new Virtua Health and Wellness Center on Young Avenue.

During the ceremony, construction crews hoisted into place the final steel beam, signifying the completion of construction of the facility's steel framework.

Check back with Moorestown Patch Saturday for more photos and a full story, including comments from Mayor John Button about just how significant a contribution Virtua's center will be to the community.

Does anyone know when Virtua expects to officially open it's doors to the public?

Marcianne, During a presentation to the Moorestown Business Association toward the end of last year, a representative from Virtua said it was slated to open in early Nov. 2012. As far as I know, that hasn't changed. But I've reached out to Virtua to see if I can set up a tour of the building for myself before the doors officially open. So if I find out anything, I'll let you (and everyone else) know. Here's the link to the story: http://patch.com/A-nNGS
