Moorestown Primo Hoagies Coming Soon (Very Soon)

Hankering for a Primo hoagie? You won't have to wait long.

If you've peeked into the vacant storefront next to Starbucks while on your way to get a latte lately, you've likely noticed the progress being made on the new Primo Hoagies.

The sandwich franchise's Moorestown location is still listed as "Coming Soon!" on Primo's website—has been for months (though it was recently moved to the main page of the site)—but "soon" could be right around the corner.

A Primo spokesperson said Monday that the hoagie shop is expected to open on Main Street this month, though an exact date has not been set.

Primo sought a Moorestown location for some time, according to Kathy Marmarou, who owns both the Mount Laurel and now Moorestown franchises. "We just really like Main Street."

The 41 East Main Street property most recently housed a Subway, which closed in 2010. The building was originally erected in 1926 as the home of the Moorestown Trust Company, which went under shortly thereafter (most likely due to the stock market crash). It was a hardware store for much of its existence, first housing McChesney's Hardware, then followed by Wright's Hardware. After Wright's closed, Starbucks moved into one-half of the building, with Subway taking up residence in the other half.

The property is considered a contributing building to the historic district of Moorestown.

Primo has more than 100 franchises across the country, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.
