The theater held three days of preview events earlier this week—during which tickets, popcorn and soft drinks were $2 apiece—leading up to the grand opening, with all the proceeds going to the charities.
Representatives from Regal presented checks to the respective charities during a VIP event Wednesday night, which included:
- $2,800 for American Red Cross services for families of deployed service members and Wounded Warriors
- $4,100 for MooreKids
- $4,200 for Symphony in C
Among the films being shown at the theater for Thursday's grand opening is the new film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, premiering at midnight.
