Moorestown Regal Donates $11K to Charities

The new Regal Premium Experience theater at Moorestown Mall marked its grand opening Thursday.

Regal Cinemas raised more than $11,000 for local charities through a series of preview events ahead of its grand opening Thursday at the Moorestown Mall.

The theater held three days of preview events earlier this week—during which tickets, popcorn and soft drinks were $2 apiece—leading up to the grand opening, with all the proceeds going to the charities.

Representatives from Regal presented checks to the respective charities during a VIP event Wednesday night, which included:

  • $2,800 for American Red Cross services for families of deployed service members and Wounded Warriors
  • $4,100 for MooreKids
  • $4,200 for Symphony in C
"We believe in the community, and we believe the theater is as good as our community investment," said Jewel Gallagher, northern regional marketing manager for Regal Entertainment Group. "It's a huge, huge important part in promoting Regal."

Among the films being shown at the theater for Thursday's grand opening is the new film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, premiering at midnight.
