What Would You Like to See at the Young Ave. Acme?

The former supermarket space at Moorestown Commons has been empty for more than a year and a half. We want to know what you'd like to see there.

It's been more than a year and a half —which brought the number of supermarkets within Moorestown's borders to zero after the Chester Avenue Acme () shut down five years earlier.

Given its proximity to Lockheed Martin and the —not to mention a plethora of other offices and the shops in Moorestown Commons and Centerton Square—the storefront is surely a piece of prime real estate.

The property could also potentially figure into the continuing discussion of where to allow liquor licenses in Moorestown.

After and invalidated the second ballot question last week, , ranging from appealing the decision to imposing different restrictions on the issuance of liquor licenses.

Though Mayor John Button reserved his thoughts on council's potential course of action, some have suggested () restricting the sale of alcohol to the entire SRC (Specially Restricted Commercial) zone, which would include not just East Gate and the Moorestown Mall, but also the Young Avenue shopping center.

So what do you think? What would you like to see take Acme's place? A new supermarket? Which one? Or would you like to see some kind of mixed-use retail? Restaurant(s)—maybe ones that serve alcohol? Or something else altogether?
