Book Your Spot at the Moorestown Library

Story time for kids from birth through 5 begins next week at the library.

Story Time begins next week at the Moorestown Library, and we’ve got a full slate of wintery stories and crafts planned. If you haven’t registered yet, be sure to call today at 856-234-0333, ext. 5 to reserve a spot for your child to join the fun.

The Moorestown Library offers free weekly story times for children from birth through kindergarten. Baby Time is offered at 9:30 a.m. Mondays for children under 2, along with their caregivers. Siblings are welcome and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun by clapping and singing along. The 30-minute program is followed by a short playtime, where parents and children can get to know one another and make new friends. The winter session will run from Jan. 7 through Feb. 11 (skipping Jan. 21 for the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day). No registration required for Baby Time.

Time for Twos is the library’s story time designed especially for 2-year-olds, along with caregivers and siblings. The 30-minute program is held at 10:45 a.m. Mondays and again on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. The Monday session will run from Jan. 7 through Feb. 11, skipping Jan. 21 in observance of the holiday. The Tuesday session will run from Jan. 8 through Feb. 12. Registration is not required.

Three-Year-Old Story Time, for children who were 3 as of Jan. 1, will meet on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m, Jan. 9 through Feb. 13. Children will enjoy picture books, felt-board stories, songs, fingerplays and short films, all related to a seasonal theme. After the stories, children and their caregivers can work together to create a wintery craft related to the day’s stories. Registration for this program is required.

Four- to 5-Year-Old Story Time, for children who turned 4 by Jan. 1, is offered three times a week, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursdays, and again on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. The Thursday session will run from Jan. 10 through Feb. 14, and the Friday session will run from Jan. 11 through Feb. 15. Children will enjoy picture books, felt-board stories, songs, fingerplays and short films related to a seasonal theme. After the stories, children will create a wintery craft related to the day’s stories. Registration for this program is required, and the Thursday afternoon session has already filled.

Kindergarten Story Time will run from Tuesday, Jan. 8, through Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each week, kindergarteners will enjoy wintery stories, rhymes, songs and crafts. Registration is required.
