BurlCo Farmers Market Reopens Saturday

The best local and seasonal food, along with live entertainment, will be featured every weekend through October.

Burlington County’s popular farmers market will reopen Saturday at the Burlington County Community Agricultural Center at 500 Centerton Road in Moorestown, offering up a sixth season of Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables and, once again, featuring a variety of live entertainment, baked goods and unique crafts.

Last season nearly four dozen vendors—offering fresh produce and other agricultural products, as well as prepared foods, crafts, and other specialty items—were on site, and Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio said this season will bring with it another wide array of offerings for shoppers.

“Expect more of the same,” he said. “No one will be disappointed by the selection of the finest fruits and vegetables that area farmers have to offer. And if you were a regular last year, expect to see some new vendors, selling everything from plants, to clams, to gluten-free cookies, and other prepared foods.”

The market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine (except during declared weather emergencies), through October.

On a week-to-week basis, the market promises a variety of entertainment, farming and gardening demonstrations, as well as featured area chefs offering cooking tips and demonstrations.

As in the past, market vendors will provide an assortment of seasonal produce such as blueberries, sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, asparagus and organic vegetables, as well as free-range poultry, pot pies, cheese, baked and prepared foods, fresh flowers and herbs.
