Church Road Project Begins This Week

If you're driving through Mount Laurel or Maple Shade this week (or next), adjust your travel plans accordingly.

Starting Wednesday, the county will begin resurfacing a 1.6-mile section of Church Road spanning Maple Shade and Mount Laurel.

The project involves milling and overlay of Church Road from the Camden County line in Maple Shade to Route 73 in Mount Laurel. The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

One lane will remain open to traffic, alternating during milling and paving operations. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to find alternative routes while work is underway, according to a release from the county.

The work is being done as part of the county’s 2012 state-funded overlay program. The county will resurface a total of 21.4 miles of roadway in 14 municipalities through shared state and county funding.
