County Spraying for Mosquitoes Tonight

The county will be spraying in the area of Birchfield and North Lake drives after positive samples of West Nile were discovered there.

The Burlington County Mosquito Division will spray for adult mosquitoes near the areas of Birchfield Drive and North Lake Drive starting at 7:30 p.m. tonight, where positive samples of West Nile virus have been found. 

The division is planning to treat areas within approximately a half-mile radius. Pesticide will be applied in a mist form by a truck-mounted sprayer. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors while the treatment takes place. 

Treatment will also be done in the area around Cherry Street in Beverly.

The division routinely places mosquito traps in locations throughout the county as part of a continuing effort to identify the presence of West Nile virus.
