Huge Crowd Comes Out for Moorestown VNA Wine Tasting Benefit

The event benefited the group's charitable home care, hospice and counseling programs, as well as Camp Firefly, its overnight camp for grieving children.

hosted a large-scale wine tasting last month to benefit its charitable home care, hospice and counseling programs.  

Close to 400 people attended the event on May 19. In addition to indoor event spaces, the agency erected a massive tent outside to help accommodate the crowd.

According to spokeswoman Linda Graf, “This year’s event was . The wine tasting has become the place to see and be seen for our friends, neighbors and colleagues in the health care community. The community has been very generous this year in their support and we are extremely grateful for the time, energy and resources put forth by everyone involved.”

The wine tasting benefit was presented by the Wine Cellar of Cinnaminson, and offered an abundance of choices of both domestic and international vintages, and micro-brewed beers.  

Wine experts were on hand to answer questions, a variety of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres were served, and a silent auction featured many items, ranging from a “New York Wine Country Weekend,” to Southwest Airline tickets, to packages from local restaurants and spas.  

Guests were treated to offerings by The Chop House of Gibbsboro, of Moorestown, Marcello’s Ristorante, and Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, both of Marlton. Desserts were provided by Seasons 52 of Cherry Hill, JB Bakery of Burlington, The Fudge Artist, Mom-Mom’s Candies and Oh Sugah!, all of Moorestown.  

Major sponsors for the 2012 wine tasting included , , , Ballard Spahr, Chickie Holcombe & Kathleen Miller, Decisive Business Systems, Inc., Dunhour Insurance Agency, Cherry Hill Senior Living, Broder Law Group, Genesis Healthcare, and SJ Magazine.

Proceeds from the event benefit patients and their families in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties. Proceeds also help support The Hospice of Moorestown Visiting Nurse Association’s Camp Firefly, a free overnight camp for children who are grieving following the death of a parent, sibling, special family member or friend.

Moorestown Visiting Nurses & Hospice is planning a Benefit Golf Tournament for later this year. The tournament will be held at on Sept. 24. The all-day event will include brunch, dinner and prizes. Sponsorships and golfer opportunities are still available.
