Kids Getting in on Construction at Moorestown Library

The library's summer reading theme—"Dig Into Reading"—seems particularly appropriate this year.

If you’ve visited the Moorestown Library lately, or even just passed by, you’ve probably noticed there’s a whole lot of digging going on. There are huge piles of dirt, a host of interesting machines, and the framework of our new library and town hall beginning to take shape. With all that excitement just outside our windows, we couldn’t ask for a better backdrop for our 2013 Summer Reading theme, “Dig into Reading.”

While the construction workers are busy building our new town hall and library, we need some help from the children of Moorestown to set the mood inside the library. So from now through June 12, we are calling all kids to visit the Children’s Department anytime the library is open to create a shovel, dump truck or hard hat decoration to hang from our ceiling all summer long. We’ll supply the shapes on sturdy posterboard, plus markers, stickers, glitter and glue—you supply the creativity!

When you’re done, we’ll hang your masterpiece in the Children’s Room where you can visit it all summer long.
