Letter: 'Thank You' to Wigs for Kids Donors

Thanks to generous individuals and businesses, Moorestown High School senior Emily Lubin has collected 317 ponytails in the last decade.

To the editor:

As I near completion of my senior year at Moorestown High School, I wanted to thank and publicly acknowledge the support from the community, local businesses, the local press and the following individuals who have donated 317 ponytails since the inception of the Wigs for Kids Moorestown Challenge 10 years ago.

(See the attached PDF for the full list of donors.)

I started the initiative as a third-grader at Baker School hoping to get 50 ponytails donated. Ten years later, these generous and brave individuals have helped Wigs for Kids make a tremendous amount of wigs for young children suffering from illnesses and diseases and have given them the confidence to persevere.

I will be leaving for college soon, where I will begin studying biological science or medicine at Johns Hopkins. Since I have continued to collect and mail the ponytails and the certificates to participants over the last 10 years, I would ask all of you who want to grow your hair and donate it to please send it directly to Wigs for Kids, 24231 Center Ridge Road, Westlake OH 44145.
