Rain, Sleet, Snow in Today's Forecast: Find Out When

Meteorologists are tracking a winter storm that could make rush hour a little messy.

It wasn’t a white Christmas, but it may be a white day-after-Christmas. At least for a little while.

Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Mount Holly are tracking an East Coast storm and say there will be some snow and sleet this afternoon. However, right before the evening rush hour that precipitation should change change to rain, said meteorologist Mark DeLisi.

The rain could be heavy tonight, officials said.

Wind will also be a factor. Gusts could hit 31 miles per hour today, but average 13 to 20 mph. Tonight, we should feel an east wind of 16-25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

After tonight, there could be up to two more inches of precipitation.

Tonight’s low will be in the mid- to upper-30s.

Rain is likely early Thursday morning, with a high near 45.
