Tell the Library Your Moorestown Story

Celebrate National Library Week in words, artwork or photographs.

Everybody has a story and the Moorestown Library wants to know yours.

In honor of National Library Week April 10-16, the library is asking residents: “What’s your Moorestown story?”

Moorestonians of all ages can share their stories of Moorestown in words, drawings or photographs.

“We thought it would be fun if people could share their wonderful Moorestown stories,” said Maria Esche, the reference/adult librarian.

Longtime residents–Ed Armstead, Sandy McGuire, Marsia Mason and Dave Schill–have been invited to share their memories of Moorestown during the National Library Week celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. April 15.

There will also be an opportunity for residents to write a haiku about a Moorestown memory and post it on a giant map of the township.

“Libraries are the center of stories,” said Esche. “It’s our job to preserve and share stories. Moorestown has great stories, this seems like a good way to share them.”

Esche encourages all residents to come to the Library Week celebration, even if they don’t want to share a story.

“Come even just to listen,” she said.

There will be music and refreshments. There will be children’s activities in the Children’s Room. Following the celebration, the Moorestown stories will become a permanent feature of the library’s website.

Submissions can be made through the library’s website at or in person at the , 111 West Second St.
