Moorestown bid Irene and summer farewell this week.

Moorestown kicked off this week by saying goodbye to Hurricane Irene and emerging from homes to assess the damage. Flooding, downed trees and downed wires abounded, though the town seemed to escape the more serious damage our northern neighbors suffered.

Elsewhere, the town's two hot issues—open space and liquor licenses—stoked yet more debate, area "diversion burglaries" continued and Moorestown prepared both for the unofficial end of summer tomorrow and for the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
