Third District Candidate Calls For End to Estate Tax During Moorestown Visit

Tom MacArthur also obtained the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business, according to the Burlington County Times.

Tom MacArthur, the Republican candidate for the Third Congressional District seat in November's election, called for the end of the federal estate tax during a visit to a Moorestown printing business on Thursday, the Burlington County Times reports.

MacArthur said the top reason family-owned businesses are sold is because the family can't pay the huge taxes after the owner dies, according to the report.

He obtained the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business, an advocacy group for small businesses, during the visit, according to the report.

MacArthur is running for the seat currently held by Jon Runyan in November. His opponent is Democrat and Burlington County Freeholder Aimee Belgard.
