MoorestownYouth Softball Assoc (MYSA) Seeking Girls and Boys 7th Grade and up for Paid Softball Umpire Positions

Opening Day for the MYSA 2013 Spring season is around the corner and we are looking for youth umpires to work our 3rd-6th grade leagues.

Umpires can be girls or boys in 7th grade or higher.  Umpires work for pay ($15-$25/game) or community service hours, with MYSA providing all training and equipment.  Games are scheduled week nights and Saturdays, typically at the Jeff Young fields on Lenola/New Albany Roads.  Games are assigned according to the umpires' availability, ~ 1-2 games/week, and the season runs April through mid-June.

In addition to our annual umpire training session prior to opening day, this year we will also provide-field mentoring over the course of the season.

Interested youths must participate in the initial training sessions, which are scheduled as follows:

Rookie Umpires (1 yr or no experience) Sat March 23 12-2:30 pm and Sun March 24 12:00-2:30 pm  (both sessions are required)

Veteran Umpires (2 or more years experience) Sat March 23 12-2:30 pm (single session required)

All training sessions will be held at the William Allen Middle School Gym and participants should bring a glove.  This training is held in conjunction with the Moorestown Youth Baseball Federation umpire training so that participation qualifies you to umpire in both Softball and Baseball leagues this spring if interested.

If you are interested, please register online at www.moorestownsoftball.org

From the "Registration" tab, scroll down until you see 2013 Umpire Registration.  I will send out a reminder prior to the training sessions to all those registered.

Feel free to contact me at trinchierip@yahoo.com  with any questions.

Paolo Trinchieri

MYSA Youth Umpire Coordinator
