Life story writing, genealogy classes offered in Medford

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - An introductory class in life story writing will be taught by Mary V.  Danielsen of Documented Legacy, a Mount Laurel based personal historian company, at 7 p.m.  Thursday February 27 at the Medford Senior Center, Cranberry Hall.   The workshop is part of a series of presentations on genealogy and family history hosted by Lora Kline, a professional genealogist and vice president of the Philadelphia Area Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.  The cost of the classes is $5. For more information on the family history series and the Medford Genealogy Group contact Lora Kline at lorak@comcast.net.

The 90-minute life story writing class will focus on how to incorporate personal stories with genealogy research to breathe life into your family history.  We will discuss the value of recording one’s story; how to begin the process; getting organized; pacing your memory; collaborating with others; using photos and other documents; filling in gaps with other research; and when to share your project with others. For more information on this workshop, visit www.documentedlegacy.com/workshops

Walk-ins are welcome, but to reserve a space and to get the handout by email before you come, register with Lora Kline at lorak@comcast.net.
