Raining Cats & Dogs Pet Fest

No matter how

you define fun, the Raining Cats & Dogs Pet Fest on April 26 from 11 a.m.

to 4 p.m. at the Burlington County Animal Shelter will have something to amuse,

entertain and delight you.

The event will feature the hugely popular Kiss-A-Bull kissing booth, plus professional pet portraits, hourly 50-50 drawings, a play area for children with a moon bounce and face painting, a yard sale, Frisbee dog shows, live music, vendors with a variety of food, pet-related merchandise, and more.

“This year’s fest is our most ambitious yet,” said Penny Legg, president of the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter, the group organizing the event. “We have more things for people to see and do than ever before.”

While having fun, pet owners also can take steps to ensure the safety and health of their animals.

A low-cost microchip clinic will be chipping pets from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Interested owners should register at: http://www.burlingtoncountypetaid.org/microchipclinics.html. The cost is $11 for spayed/neuteredpets and $20 for unaltered pets (cash only, please). Owners must bring a spay-neuter certificate to receive the discounted price.

The Penn/PetAid Canine Blood Mobile also will be on site until 1:30 p.m. Owners interested having their dogs become part of the blood donation program should visit: http://burlingtoncountypetaid.org/blooddrives.html

for eligibility requirements and to make an appointment.

The Raining Cats & Dogs Pet Fest also offers animal lovers a discount if they’re looking to add another fuzzy face to their families. Adoption fees are only $40 for puppies and dogs and $20 for cats and kittens for applications submitted April 25 to May 4, 2014 – a savings of up to $60.

“We’d like to thank our Silver Sponsor Miller Subaru and our Bronze Sponsors EveryCarShow.com and Eickhoff’s ShopRite Supermarkets,” Legg added. “We’re very excited about the event and hope to see all the pet lovers in Burlington County at the shelter on April 26.”

The Burlington County Animal Shelter is located in the County Facilities Complex, 35 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ 08060.
