Shrove Tuesday has its origins in the early days of the Church, with the ringing of the Shriving Bell - calling all Christians to come and confess their sins before beginning serious Easter preparations. Lent was traditionally a time of fasting - either by no eating at all on certain days, or by refraining from eating foods like eggs, milk, meat, or rich, buttery dishes. In that tradition, the Men’s Breakfast Club, under the leadership of John Murray, will prepare a delicious pancake supper for us to enjoy.
Don’t miss this wonderful tradition of eating delicious pancakes and sausages in the Parish Hall (and served by a terrific group of men!) beginning at 5:00 p.m. The cost is a mere $5.00 per person (12 years and under - $3.00).
