South Jersey's Top 14 Feel-Good Stories of 2013

Between brave kids, supportive communities and dreams fulfilled, there were plenty of positive stories to go around this year in the region.

All too often, it seems like today's headlines are dominated by stories of crime, corruption and tragedy.

But 2013 was filled with heartwarming stories and moments—from the now iconic San Francisco Batkid to, locally, a 5-year-old's courageous battle against cancer, a soldier's holiday homecoming, and a community coming together to help a disabled preteen get to a national pageant. And that's just to name a few.

We picked the top 14 stories—two from each of our Patch sites across South Jersey—that made us feel good this year.
