Photos: Holiday Parade Marches Through Downtown Moorestown

In the midst of the Mummers and floats in Saturday's 53rd annual Lions Club parade, one lucky couple actually got engaged.

Thousands of people lined the streets of downtown Moorestown for Saturday's Moorestown Lions Club Holiday Parade, which marked its 53rd year.

As if Mummers, marching bands, Oompa-Loompas, floats, fire engines and more weren't enough, one family had a particularly memorable experience during the parade.

In the midst of the parade, Moorestown firefighter Josh Hall—a battalion chief at Relief Engine Co. on Chester Avenue—hopped off his truck and proposed to girlfriend April Zelley, who was taking in the festivities with her family.

A visibly flustered Zelley (she said yes) said she was completely surprised by the proposal, as were many of her family members.

"I'm still in shock right now," she said.

It was a moment she almost missed. Hall had given his father strict instructions for where the family should be standing when he popped the question, but Zelley lingered at a spot farther down the street.

"I wasn’t going to (be in this spot)," she said, laughing. "I actually stopped at the corner down the street. So I guess I'm happy I followed everyone down."

Congratulations to the lucky couple!
