Browning-Hess Farm Founder Dies

Lilian Browning co-founded the farm in Moorestown more than 50 years ago with her husband.

Lilian Browning, one of the co-founders of the Browning-Hess Farm Market, died Saturday at the age of 83.

Lilian, a longtime resident of the Lenola section of Moorestown, founded the farm market (along North Lenola Road) with her husband, Bud, more than 50 years ago.

She was a loving mother, dedicated grandmother and a proud great-grandmother. And most of all, she was “mom-mom” to just about everyone she met.

Lilian will always be known for her loving heart and dedication to her friends and family. She was the wife of the late Eli “Bud” Browning III; mother of Debbie Browning Hess and her husband, David; grandmother of Jennifer Browning Hess Barlow and her husband, Michael, Bryan David Browning Hess and his wife Rosemary, and Rebecca Browning Hess Greenhow and her husband, Justin; and great-grandmother of Owen Adair, William Eli and Lincoln Henry Barlow.  

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St., Moorestown. A viewing will precede the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Colestown Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
