Former Moorestonian, OLGC Parishioner Dies

Eugene Francis Connolly was 80. Funeral services will be held next week.

Eugene Francis Connolly, 80, formerly of Moorestown, died peacefully on Feb. 6, surrounded by family at his son’s home in Broomfield, CO.

Born in Brockton, MA, Eugene was a longtime resident of Moorestown and North Falmouth, MA, and a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1954-1956 and had retired from AT&T after 27-plus years of service as a marketing manager.

Predeceased by his wife Mary Herlihy Connolly, Eugene is survived by his three children, Eugene F. Connolly Jr. (Cynthia), of Broomfield, CO; James Connolly (Michelle), of Long Beach, CA; Maria Connolly, of Raleigh, NC,; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Cassandra, Patrick and Natalie White, Ryan, Julia, and Parker Connolly; brothers Richard Connolly, of South Yarmouth, MA; William Connolly, of San Jose, CA; and Daniel Connolly, of Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. His family and friends will miss his strength of character, his gentle soul, and his big warm embrace.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing and visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and between 9-10 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Moorestown.
