Good Counsel Member, MFS Thrift Shop Volunteer Dies

Andrew Daniel Blake, of Moorestown, died Monday at the age of 62.

Andrew was husband of Norma Eileen (nee Sheppard), father of Catherine Eleanore (husband Alex Eljdid), and brother of Elaine McCarthy and Brian Blake.

A graduate of Rowan University, Andrew taught at Twin Hills School in Willingboro for 25 years. He was a Knight of Columbus and a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish. He also volunteered at the Moorestown Friends School Thrift Shop for 10 years.

Andrew liked to travel the world, but had a special love of Vermont, where he spent many summers. He also loved reading, watching movies, the Yankees, and his swimming pool.

He will be remembered for his strong support of his wife's 30-plus-year career in libraries.

He followed closely his daughter’s education, activities and career. Andrew had a great sense of humor, a kind and giving nature, and an ability to get along with all he met.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St., Moorestown. Viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St., Moorestown. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
