Moorestown High School Alum Dies

Thomas Bernhardt was an instructor at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. A service will be held this weekend.

Thomas C. Bernhardt, 64, of Mount Laurel, passed away suddenly on May 13, leaving behind many who loved and mourn him. 

Thomas was a graduate of Moorestown High School, class of 1967. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from West Virginia University. He was director of advanced pharmacy practice experiences and an instructor in clinical pharmacy for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, a position he held proudly for 34 years, and from which he received an Honorary Alumnus Award in 2010. He is also past president (1989-90) of the NJ Pharmaceutical Association.

Thomas was the loving husband of Pamela (nee Nims); father of Erin (James) Sauer and Andrea Bernhardt; doting grandfather to Matthew, Olivia and Joseph; son of Jean Bernhardt and the late Howard; brother of James (Lindsay) Bernhardt and Susan (Arthur) Cucinotta.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St., Moorestown. Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery, Moorestown.
