Obituary: Florence Matthews

Matthews, Florence, age 80, better known to those who knew and loved her as Flo, transitioned into the arms of the Universe on July 2, 2014.

Flo was born on Sept. 15, 1933 in Remington, Va. to Robert and Beulah Kilby. The majority of her life was spent in New Jersey where she raised five children. She resided in Mt. Laurel for forty-five years.

Fulfilling her life-long dream, she opened Flo’s Lakeside Tavern in 1985, catering to the public with the best food, drinks and ambience in town.

Loving wife of the late Kenneth Matthews. Mother of Judy Dress, John Ronaldson, Robin Zwick, James Ronaldson and Tammy Prasol, their spouses. 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren who knew her as Mom-Mom.

A service to remember her life will be held on Tuesday, July 15 at 1:30 pm at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 East Main Street, Moorestown, N.J. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis,Tennessee 38105 Attn: Acct. Number 36301753.
