World War II Vet Dies at 92

Harry Burns Fox, of Mount Laurel, died Friday, Sept. 13, at the age of 92.

He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, where he was named All South Jersey Scholastic and Group IV as a member of the 1939 and 1940 undefeated football team.

Soon thereafter, Harry enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and saw action on Tarawa and Okinawa during World War II. He attained the rank of corporal and earned the classification of marksmen.

The family joins Harry in expressing their thanks and gratitude to all who have served and currently serve in the armed forces.

Harry was the beloved husband of Teresa ( nee Magee) for 63 years; loving father of Gail (Jerome), Daryl (Sigmund) and Christopher (Lauren); and grandfather of Jason, Jessica, Sean, Eric, Hunter and Skylar.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St., Moorestown. Viewing will take place from 8-10 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St., Moorestown. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.

The family requests no flowers or donations.
